Oregon Trip - Day 7: Dichotomy

The photos from Saturday seem to divide themselves into two groups; so that's how we present them here.

Saturday morning we got up very early (for a vacation day) with the purpose of seeing the beach at very low tide. There were many beautiful things to see, including green sea anemones, purple and orange starfish, clams, snails and things I don't know the name of.

Instead of normal pics, these are arranged in a slideshow, encapsulated within a movie. It should "just play" when you click on the pic to the left. A smallish-size movie is linked to the pic on the left. If you are adventurous (and have a broadband connection) you can watch the bigger-sized version here.

Just east of Oceanside there are train tracks that run north/south along the Oregon shore. During the week they run freight, but on the weekends they run tourists. We rode from Garibaldi to Rockaway Beach and back in an open air car pulled by a steam engine. Neat-o. Joining us were the Waltzes: Rob and Amy and their kids Helen and Danny. Amy is Danelle's college roommate.

Click on the pic to see the fun.
